Tips for Auditions (pdf) and Sample Actor Resume (pdf)
Please observe the following procedures in preparing for your audition:
- You must check in thirty (30) minutes prior to your appointment time. This is necessary to allow time to process paperwork or resume materials and to allow you time to warm up.
- Please bring twenty (20) copies of your resume and headshot (8x10), stapled back to back. Photocopies of your headshot are acceptable. If the requested materials are not stapled as described, you will be asked to do so before you begin your audition.
- You will have a total of three (3) minutes for your entire audition. This will be strictly enforced, so please be aware of your time. Your time begins immediately after your introduction. We suggest that, in your preparation for this audition, you have someone time you to make certain you are within the three minutes.
- You may choose to perform either two (2) monologues or one monologue and one song. Actors-If you are doing 2 monologues, please make sure they are contrasting monologues, in order to show your acting range. Singers- An accompanist will be provided. Please bring sheet music in your key. No pre-recorded music or acappella singing will be allowed.
- No family or friends will be allowed in the theatre to watch your audition.
