Elly Awards Ceremony FAQ
What time does the ceremony start?
The house opens at 5pm. The Youth Awards begin at 6pm; The Adult Awards begin at 8pm.
Where is the Crest Theatre located?
The theatre is located at 1013 K Street in Downtown Sacramento. It is on the light rail line.
In what order do they give out the awards?
Youth Awards are given out in this order --Education Awards by type of award, then Young People’s by type of award. The Adult Awards are given out as group by type of award for Comedy, Drama, Musical and Original Works.
How long is the entire awards ceremony?
Youth ceremony? Adult ceremony?
Entire ceremony is 3.5 hours. Youth ceremony is 1 hr 45 min. Adult ceremony is 1 hr 20 mins.
Do I have to attend both the youth and adult ceremonies?
No, your ticket is good for both ceremonies but you do not have to attend both.
What is the suggested attire?
Formal. Long dresses for women and jackets and ties for men are encouraged.
Is there a reception before or after the award ceremony?
Not at this time.
What kind of parking is available? Cost?
There is both on street parking and paid parking in nearby city lots.
Can I take light rail to this event?
Yes, there is a light rail stop just in front of the Crest Theatre.
Is there any entertainment?
Yes, there is a live orchestra that plays background music plus there are five musical numbers performed by nominees in the Overall Production Musical category.
Is there an intermission?
Yes, there is a 20 minute intermission.
Can I take flash photos?
Yes, flash photos are encouraged.
Are there restaurants nearby the Crest Theatre?
Yes, there are several restaurants nearby on J and K Sts. including Pyramid Brewing and Cosmopolitan Café. However, many are not open on Sunday evenings past 9pm.
How much do tickets cost?
$25 general admission
$20 SARTA members
$20 groups of 10 or more
$8 Nominees
How do I purchase tickets?
You can buy tickets online at brownpapertickets.com/ e/192833. Tickets will be on sale at the door beginning 1 hour prior to start of show. Tickets can not be purchased from the Crest Theatre.
How will I receive my tickets once they are purchased?
You may choose to have your tickets mailed; printed at home or held at will call. Please remember that all ticket sales are final.
Can I purchase my tickets at the SARTA office?
No, tickets are available for purchase on-line at brownpapertickets.com/e/192833. If you have any questions regarding placing a ticket order, please contact the SARTA office so we resolve the issue asap at 916-443-8229.
Will there be tickets available at the door on the night of the event?
Yes, tickets will be for sale at the door.
Are tickets refundable?
No, tickets are not refundable.
Are these reserved seats?
No, this is an open seating event. However, a special section is reserved for nominees and their families near the stage.
Why is there a charge for nominee tickets this year?
As the costs for this event continue to rise, we must pass along the costs to our attendees.
Do musical performers have to buy tickets?
Musical performers are given complimentary tickets. However, the director of the musical number is responsible for requesting the tickets and distributing them to the performers.
Do presenters or plaque carriers have to buy tickets?
No, presenters and plaque carriers will do not need to purchase a ticket.
Do Elly judges have to purchase tickets?
No, each Elly judge may request two complimentary tickets from the SARTA office. Please call 916-443-8229 or email us at sarta@sarta.com.
If I am volunteering at the event, do I need to purchase a ticket?
No, volunteers do not need to purchase a ticket.
