The 2012 Volcano Theatre season begins in the Cobblestone with Marsha Norman's powerful 'Night Mother. Eloquent, enthralling and ultimately shattering. Explores the final hour in the life of a young woman who has decided that life is no longer worth living. 'Night Mother opens April 14 and runs through May 19 including three Sunday matinees April 22, 29 and May 6.
Our first summer show in the Volcano Amphitheatre is the side splitting and zany Noises Off by Michael Frayn. A peerless backstage farce about a scrappy troupe of actors who are disintegrating professionally and personally. If you like to laugh, "Noises Off" is for you. This playful comedy runs June 8 through July 7.
High Society pre-nuptial festivities go awry in Philip Barry's sparkling classic romantic comedy The Philadelphia Story. This delightful feel good tale reminds us that there is a little of the good in the worst of us, and a little of the bad in the best of us. The Philadelphia Story opens in the Volcano Amphitheatre and runs from August 10 through September 8.
Fall opens up in the Cobblestone Theatre with Jon Lonoff's comedy Skin Deep. In a country obsessed with weight, cosmetic surgery, dating and infidelity, Skin Deep tackles these sticky subjects with enough good humor, laughs, sentiment and quirky characters to keep you smiling from beginning to end. Skin Deep run from September 22 through October 27 with Sunday matinees on September 30, October 7 and 14.
The Volcano Theatre Company wraps up it's 2012 season with a new version of the Charles Dickens' classic Christmas story adapted by the Volcano Theatre Company's own Vince Murdock, Christmas Yet to Come. It is the classic tale filled with selfishness and greed that leads ultimately to redemption and the promise of a new beginning with a futuristic twist. Christmas Yet to Come opens in the Cobblestone Theatre and runs from November 24 through December 15 with Sunday matinees on November 25, December 2 and 9th.
